Great burger. One of the best in the city. Really good service in a pleasant environment. Yes. The burgers at We Love Burgers and Hamburguesa Mataleón are pretty darn good too.

Restaurant Review for B Town Burger Boutique

My first burger at B Town was at their restaurant in Roma, now closed. The only remaining location that is still open is out in Santa Fe. That burger craving affliction shared by Japanese businessmen and Mexican bankers has managed to keep that location in Santa Fe active and thriving.

The Santa Fe restaurant has a comfortable American-bistro décor. Plenty of wood accents and a mosaic-tile floor. There are lots of flat screen televisions to keep the sports fans appeased while they goggle-down their burgers and beer.

The service in Santa Fe is just as it was in town. Not quite as attentive as what we saw at Partners & Brothers in Polanco. But then again, that was the only 5 stars for service we’ve ever given to a burger joint. The service at B Town was still above-average for a casual dining restaurant.

What about that burger. It was great two years ago. And it’s still great.

A big, thick patty with a course grind. Plenty of fat to keep it juicy. A good sear on the edge. It’s nestled down into a beautiful shiny dome top brioche buns with sexy black sesame seeds. That bun looked a bit like Brad Pitt in a tuxedo (a la Jack Black). A fresh slice of iceberg lettuce. Thank the Lord. None of that frilly French lettuce. Onions, tomatoes. I even went “Mexican” and added some smoky chilis and a few slices of avocado.

Crisp French fries with just a touch of skin left on the tips. Well salted the way French fries should be. But even if the fries had needed a bit of salt that wouldn’t be a problem. They put salt on the table. Something about 80% of Mexican restaurants haven’t quite acquired the urge to do.

Oh. If you happen to be Bugs Bunny, they have salads too.

Summary? Great burger. One of the best in the city. Really good service in a pleasant environment. Yes. The burgers at We Love Burgers and Hamburguesa Mataleón are pretty darn good too. But you’re not going to drive from Santa Fe to Colonia Roma when you get your next burger urge, are you? Of course not. You’re going to go to B Town Burger Boutique.
